On behalf of the Japan Alumni in Cambodia (JAC), I have great pleasure to congratulate JUGAS in celebrating this 26th ASCOJA Conference in Singapore. In normal circumstances, representatives from all chapters would be meeting in person and renew our bond as ASCOJA family and Japan. However, the COVID situation of COVID has made many of us difficult to travel. It is therefore conducted in a hybrid fashion, where some of our members can participate in person while the rest joins online. And we can understand the challenges faced in organizing such a large-scale event under the current circumstances.
The topic of ASCOJA conference this year is “Out of the Tunnel and into the Light – The New Norm of COVID-19 for ASEAN and Japan”. This is a perfect choice of topic for this event. As COVID is becoming more manageable, it is the right time to discuss how to adapt to new normal of post Covid recovery. With the wonderful speakers and panelists from all chapters, I am sure that the conference will be of great success.
Last but not least, we once again would like to whole-heartedly express our gratitude to JUGAS for organizing this event. We wish JUGAS and all ASCOJA members all the best and we hope to meet in each in person when the COVID situation allows.
Ngov Penghuy,
President of JAC
