Message From President of JAOL

On behalf of the Japan Alumni of Laos (JAOL), it is my pleasure to congratulate Japanese University Graduate Association of Singapore (JUGAS) for hosting the 26th ASCOJA Conference in Singapore. It has been more than two years now since the 25th ASCOJA Conference was held in Vientiane Capital of Lao PDR in 2019. I could imagine the amount of work, time, and efforts that have been invested to prepare for this important event. Congratulations to all JUGAS members and everyone involved, and I look forward to this exciting event.

The world has been hit by COVID-19 pandemic and we all have been affected one way or another such as travel restrictions, adapting to work-from-home modality, shift to online classes, and many others. The theme of this year event signifies the beginning of our transition to the new normal post COVID-19 pandemic as we are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. There is no doubt that regional and international cooperation remains vital to support this transition and enhance our resilience to this type of shocks in the future.

As always, JAOL stands committed and ready to work with all ASEAN chapters of the alumni organizations under ASCOJA framework as well as ASJA International to strengthen our relationship and cooperation to bring about fruitful and impactful outcomes to the ASEAN region and Japan.

Lastly, I wish JUGAS a successful event, and everyone who attend the event in-person or virtually a great success and good health.

Yours Sincerely,

Bandaxay LOVANXAY

President of JAOL
